Miniature Paintings

In the display case at the Chelmsford Library, are some of my miniature acrylic paintings, all winter scenes. They will be there throughout the holidays, November-January. (See the library’s web site for a photograph of the display.)

Upcoming Shows

The " ‘Scene’ at the Farmers' Market" exhibit of artwork that was created at or inspired by the Chelmsford Farmers Market this summer and fall, is being held at the Chelmsford Library now through November 28. The Opening Reception is Sat. Nov. 5, 2:00 to 4:00. I have six paintings in this show – please stop in and see them! One of my paintings may be viewed on my Facebook page.

The exhibit of some of my favorite acrylic paintings has been installed at The Summer Place Retirement Community in Chelmsford at 20 Summer Street (off Rte 129). Stop by and see it anytime now through the end of December. A reception will be held on Sunday, Nov. 20, 2:00 to 4:00, with refreshments provided courtesy of The Summer Place. I would love to see you there!

In December, I will have three new paintings at the Chelmsford Art Society’s annual Holiday Members Show in the Chelmsford Library. The Opening Reception will be on Saturday, Dec. 10, 2:00 to 4:00 complete with live music and refreshments. I hope I will see you there! The paintings may also be viewed during regular library hours until the end of December.

Autumn 2011

Update

Autumn – my favorite season! This fall has been unusually warm, and the leaves are just starting to show some color; perfect outdoor painting weather. I recently painted with friends at Autumn Hills Orchard in Groton where the apples and pears are abundant, and the mountain views are spectacular. We also painted at Great Brook Farm State Park in Carlisle – and enjoyed pumpkin ice cream at their ice cream stand!

Beaver Brook’s annual Fall Festival and Art Exhibit in Hollis, NH had many beautiful paintings and photographs exhibited. The show included three of my paintings: “Duck House at Beaver Brook”, “Witch’s Haunt” and “Swamplands”.

“Scene at the Farmers’ Market” is an upcoming exhibit of artwork that was created at or inspired by the Chelmsford Farmers Market this summer and fall, and I will have several paintings on display there. I hope to see you at the Opening Reception on Nov. 5 (2:00-4:00). The show will be in the Adams Library in Chelmsford until Tuesday, Nov. 28.

I am busy preparing for a solo exhibit, November through December, at The Summer Place in Chelmsford.

Please stop in at The Floral Arts Gallery in Westford and see the new artwork that I recently delivered!

Summer 2011

Update

My exhibit this spring at the Epsom, NH Public Library was very successful. A big thank you to everyone who visited the show – I hope you all enjoyed it! Your support and interest are very much appreciated.

It’s been a great summer for painting outdoors – and indoors! Lots of beautiful days – sunny, hot, rainy, too humid - we’ve had lots of variety! The group of artists I paint with doesn’t meet quite weekly in the summer (we all have busy schedules), but you can watch some of us painting at the Chelmsford Farmers Market this summer on Thursday afternoons, from 2:00 – 6:00 pm.

The Chelmsford Art Society’s annual July 4th Festival was held in a different locale this year, All Saints Church, due to renovations at the Chelmsford Center for the Arts (the old Chelmsford Town Hall). Three of my paintings were exhibited during the festival, and later at the Chelmsford Library for the entire month of July: “Insouciance,” “At The Gallery” and “Untitled.”

I currently have an acrylic painting, “Twilight Awakening II” on display in the Fitchburg Art Museum’s Annual Regional Art Show, until September 4, 2011. Another painting, “Morning Light (Haybales),” which was not accepted into the FAM’s show (!) will be on display in the Salon des Refuses at the Design at 639 Gallery, at 639 Main St., Fitchburg, until September 3, 2011. This small gallery has a lot of really cool stuff in it and is well worth checking out!

Upcoming Events include: look for my paintings at Beaver Brook’s annual Fall Festival and Art Exhibit (“Nature Beckons”), which will be held on September 24 and 25 in Hollis, NH; in November, I will have several paintings included in an exhibit of artwork that was created at or inspired by the Chelmsford Farmers Market this summer and fall (the show will be displayed in the Chelmsford Public Library); and during November and December, I will be having a solo exhibit at The Summer Place in Chelmsford.

Don’t forget to drop in at The Floral Arts Gallery in Westford to see ongoing exhibits of my paintings and those of other talented local artists. In addition, you can see some of my paintings on Facebook (on my professional page, Nan Quintin, please click “like”). Also, check out Chelmsford Arts Group on Facebook to see additional arts information in and around the Chelmsford area. Enjoy!

April 2011

Spring Exhibit in Epsom NH

I have been really busy lately – finishing paintings and framing them in preparation for my exhibit this spring at the Epsom, NH Public Library. The back roads to Epsom are really scenic (just ignore all the barns that collapsed over the winter!) and the Epsom Library is easy to find – it is right on Route 4. The show dates are April 16 to May 28, 2011; the library is open Mon-Thurs. 10-7 and Sat. 9-1. The Opening Reception is Saturday, April 16 from 1:00 to 3:00. Hope to see you there!

I recently exhibited two of my paintings in the Westford Regional Art Exhibit (“Serenity”, and “Spirit Tree”). This show is always well organized and well attended, with a large variety of artwork that is fun to peruse.

We had a really long, cold and snowy winter – even for New England! It was a real “cabin fever reliever” to get together with my wonderful painting group weekly at The Floral Arts Gallery in Westford.

Hope you are enjoying the warm weather!

January 2011

Happy New Year!

I hope you all enjoyed the holiday season, the time outside of time. The Solstice has been celebrated for thousands of years, all across the world. We all like seeing the days get longer! (-: The Solstice festivities (feasting, gift-giving, celebration, community, reflections on the past year and plans for the new year) are all good - what a great, inclusive holiday! After the end-of-year-busyness is a quiet time for me when I can more easily focus on painting. Let it snow!

This winter I will be meeting more or less weekly with a group of friends to do some watercolor painting together. We get inspiration, support and energy from each other; and it’s fun!

Two of my paintings are currently being exhibited in the Chelmsford Art Society show at the Chelmsford Library until January 21. Don’t miss this show - there are a lot of great paintings there; the CAS membership includes a lot of very talented artists.

I am painting and preparing for a solo art exhibit this spring at the Epsom, NH Public Library. The show will be April 16 to May 28, 2011. Save the date –the Opening Reception is Saturday, April 16 from 1:00 to 3:00. Hope to see you there!

Keep warm.
